Time for Tulips, Peeps and Chocolate

Time for Tulips Peeps and Chocolate
It’s lovely and I think fondly both on getting ready for a church celebration by shining my patent leathers with Vaseline and also uncovering my mother’s stash of Peeps in her closet.

Apologies, Joyful Musers, for being especially remiss on writing this March. March, to me, is the Bermuda Triangle of months, the unsolved mystery of time. Why does it come and go so incredibly slowly and then, miraculously, disappear?  I do not have the answers but simply know it’s a mystery to me.

And then Easter is Sunday – both early and on time.  Joyful Easter to you all or very early Passover if you celebrate that.  And, if all you do is celebrate the end of March, well, enjoy.  March does seem to be departing as a lion rather than lamb but maybe she just got her dates wrong.

It is Easter. Sunday. Ham and marshmallow peeps, Jesus and a beautiful act.  It’s lovely and I think fondly both on getting ready for a church celebration by shining my patent leathers with Vaseline and also uncovering my mother’s stash of Peeps in her closet.  She hoarded boxes, saving them for apres Lent when she’d indulge in their sugary joy.  I cannot pass on a good peep, nor a good moment of gratitude, joy and pure, pure love.  That, to me, is Easter.

I bought some tulips yesterday and, as I have the disease of more, my kitchen is looking a bit funeral homeish, a bit wakey.  But, I think there can never be enough flowers, enough Peeps, enough chocolate.  I thrill in any holiday where candy is so prominent.  I laughed with friends about the 50% off sales at Rite Aid of which I will descend.  I think jelly beans ought to be their own food group, white and pink ones are my fave.

So, I’ll return in April with more scribes after this slippery slidey molassesly quick slow March. Celebrate the joy, the season, the sun and moon, the cold and hot, the resurrection and the death, the peeps and the ham.  I muse joyfully you will.
