Only Timothée Chalamet could make a black suit feel this naughty

Timothée Chalamet has been pulling some serious fashion stunts recently. In all baby pink Chrome Hearts, in Chanel scarves and leather jackets, and in full-on Bob Dylan cosplay (including blonde wig).
So it does feel like a nice and nostalgic to see him in a good old fashioned black suit, looking like the Timothée of old.
On the red carpet at the BAFTAs, Chalamet shelved the eccentricities and wore a custom black double breasted suit by fashion-favourite Bottega Veneta. Featuring a cropped jacket that brought the hem up to the hips, the trousers were a roomier cut that puddled over black boots. Underneath, a plain black T-shirt (no doubt, made of signature ’Tega cashmere). So a black suit, but still a tiny bit experimental.

As with all looks from the Venetian house, the suit was filled with the little details, from the triangle motif on the chest pocket to the subtle pleating on the waist of the trousers.
But while the rest of the look may lean more understated, his Cartier necklace brought things up a notch. His Panthère de Cartier piece features a white gold panther that sits across two tennis necklaces, which has, according to the brand, “Two emerald eyes, 17 sapphire spots, one onyx nose, and 556 diamonds totalling 17.45 carats.” (You juuust missed Valentine’s Day, but you can still pick this baby up for around £234,000, FYI.)
Timothée Chalamet is nominated for Best Actor for his role in A Complete Unknown, where he plays Bob Dylan. But win or lose, he’ll be going home with his own (Panthère) trophy.
