Today's 'Wordle' Word of the Day: #234 Answer and Clues To Win February 8 Puzzle

Todays Wordle Word of the Day 234 Answer and Clues To Win February 8 Puzzle
The latest "Wordle" puzzle for Tuesday, February 8 can be challenging if you don't pick the right starting word. Newsweek has prepared a quick guide to help you out.

The Wordle for February 8 might not be the most obscure puzzle we have had lately, but if you're unlucky with your guesses then it can still be quite a challenge. To help you uncover as many green tiles as possible, Newsweek has pulled together some useful hints and tips.

It's hard to believe that we are already up to Wordle #234, especially since the game only started gaining traction on social media relatively recently. Yet these daily brain teasers have actually been coming out since October 2021, when developer Josh Wardle decided to make his personal project (originally meant for him and his partner) available to the wider world.

Since then, the Wordle webpage (over at powerlanguage.co.uk) has experienced an incredible boom in popularity. Wardle previously told Newsweek that the site had just 90 visitors at the start of November but that by the time January 9 rolled around, it was attracting over 2 million people every day.

The platform has only continued to grow from there (as evidenced by the below Statista graphic) and has now been purchased by The New York Times Company for an undisclosed amount in the seven-figure range. In short, it's fair to say that this unassuming little puzzle game has been a huge success.

Wordle #234 Tips for February 8

For a bit of background context, there is a curated list of over 2,500 English language words in the game's database (enough to last for 7 years). Each of these is 5 letters long and is selected randomly by the website, so that even Wardle doesn't know which one is coming up on any given day.

The latest puzzle is Wordle #234 and can be tricky if you don't have a good starting word to narrow things down. With that being said, Newsweek has provided some clues below to give you a nudge in the right direction.

These get progressively easier, with the first entry being the most cryptic and the last giving you the word of the day's dictionary definition, so you can choose how much help you want. As always, we will publish the answer itself at the very end of the article too.
