Tom Brady's inaugural season as an NFL broadcaster has been met with mixed results, as the seven-time Super Bowl champion is still finding his voice in the booth.

Brady clearly sees the game well and is able to articulate what he's watching, but some have complained that he's awkward and lacks chemistry with his broadcast partner Kevin Burkhardt.

One prominent voice in sports media is calling the Brady move a win, and he's giving the all-time great credit for what he believes is a seamless transition into broadcasting.

During Wednesday's episode of "Pardon the Interruption," ESPN's Wilbon gave the quarterback credit for his take on Azeez Al-Shaair's illegal hit on Trevor Lawrence. He also gave himself credit for predicting that Brady would do well in the role.

“I love listening to Brady on Sundays do games,” Wilbon said to his longtime co-host, Tony Kornheiser.

“I thought Tom Brady was going to be great and compelling at this when he retired; you didn’t think so. I love listening to Brady. He gives you stuff to think about every time he opens his mouth.”

Brady's commentary has received mixed reviews, but he's trained by calling some of the biggest games of the season this year for FOX. His star will only shine brighter when he returns to a familiar place this February, as the Super Bowl will be live on FOX from New Orleans.

It's going to be a full-circle moment for Brady, who won his first Super Bowl championship inside the Superdome.

Wilbon also praised Brady for taking a look at things from a different perspective and trying to see what Al-Shaair was intending to do, instead of immediately siding with Lawrence, a fellow quarterback.

Brady will have more high-profile games to call this season before things ramp up with the playoffs. As usual, FOX will broadcast the NFC championship game, giving Brady the chance to call one massive game before getting the ultimate assignment two weeks later.

Brady went 7-3 in the Super Bowl during his playing career, and he'll simply look to go 1-0 as a broadcaster when he and Burkhardt call the big game a few months from now.
