This Olympics will make Tom Daley the first British diver to compete in five games after he came out of retirement three years ago.

He became an Olympian aged just 14 at Beijing in 2008.

He said: "This Olympics has been about enjoying it, embracing every moment and taking everything in as much as I can. To be flagbearer too is just the icing on the cake."

Rower Helen Glover returns to the Olympics for the fourth time after coming out of retirement twice- previously ending her career following both the Rio and Tokyo Games.

"I never thought I would be an Olympian. Being part of history as a flagbearer, I haven't really got my head round it yet," she said.

"Everyone I have told so far has cried, and I cried when I was told, which goes to show how much of an honour it is and how much it means."
