TUI makes major change to food and drinks on flights from Leeds Bradford and Doncaster Sheffield airports
TUI Airways has issued a warning to its passengers of a change to the food and drinks services affecting some Yorkshire flights. The airline announced on its website this week the airline will no longer serve hot and cold meals or sandwiches for the time being.
On top of the change, the snacks and drinks served on TUI flights will be "limited" on its short and mid-haul flights. The operator said in a statement on May 5 the issue was due to "staff shortages" and would take place over the coming days.
In total, the change will affect 15 airports - including two in Scotland. A TUI spokesperson said: "We can confirm that unfortunately due to staff shortages with our catering supplier, there will be no hot and cold meals or sandwiches, and a limited offering of snacks and drinks, available onboard TUI Airways short- and mid-haul flights over the coming days.

"Customers may therefore want to bring their own food and soft drinks onboard (no alcohol permitted). Any soft drinks over 100ml will need to be purchased after you have passed through security."
The disruption will not affect any long-haul flights to Aruba, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Orlando and St Lucia - meal services on these flights will "continue to operate as normal", says TUI.
The spokesperson added how the firm is "continuously monitoring the situation" and "working closely" with suppliers in an attempt to limit the impact on services.
