I'm A Celebrity's Coleen Rooney was the runner up on the show after Danny Jones was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night but her husband Wayne Rooney was not in Australia to greet her.

I'm A Celebrity's Coleen Rooney came in at second place last night after Danny Jones was crowned the new King of the Jungle in the 2024 series of the ITV show.

Despite making it all the way to the final, Coleen's famous footballer husband Wayne Rooney was nowhere to be seen after she made her grand exit from the camp after three weeks of jungle madness.

Fans of the mum-of-four were disappointed to see Coleen narrowly miss out on the crown after she was the favourite to win the show. Sunday's episode saw Reverend Richard Coles take third place before Danny was announced as the winner, Wales Online reports.

As per the show's tradition, the celebs are greeted by their loved ones on the iconic bridge in the Australian jungle once they are voted off but Coleen has not reunited with Wayne yet.

She was instead greeted by her mother Colette and two youngest sons, Klay, 11, and Cass, six, upon her departure from the camp, which left her in tears.

The Manchester United and England legend - who is currently managing Plymouth Argyle - has been back home in the UK during the show's latest run, as he attempts to improve his team's performance in the Championship. Since Coleen has been in the jungle, Argyle have suffered two significant losses and drawn with Watford, leaving them in the relegation zone.

In anticipation of the highly-anticipated finale, Wayne shared a heartfelt video message with his sons Kai, 15, and Kit, 8, encouraging fans to support his wife. He expressed: "Hi Col, we just want to wish you all the best in the final tonight, we've all been so proud of you.

"You've shown everyone who you really are and your character. No matter what you'll be our queen, no matter what happens we're all really excited to see you. All the best, we love you."

Coleen overcame emotional hurdles during her jungle stint, breaking down when she was unexpectedly visited by her two youngest children on Friday's episode.

Although the TV presenter is set to spend a few extra days Down Under to film the 'Coming Out' special, she’ll return to her family soon after, which includes her husband Wayne, whom she married in 2008 following a relationship that began at sweet sixteen.

Despite being childhood sweethearts and Wayne's international stardom on the pitch for Man United and England, their union has weathered its fair share of public storms regarding Wayne’s fidelity.

Before their marriage, Wayne is said to have paid for sexual encounters with a prostitute at a brothel on multiple occasions, and it's claimed that he continued this behaviour even after they wed. The former Everton and Derby County player is also accused of sleeping with another prostitute while Coleen was pregnant with their son Kai, which led her to temporarily leave their family home.

Despite forgiving Wayne initially, Coleen faced further infidelity rumours throughout his career. In 2017, Wayne was arrested for drink driving in a car owned by office worker Laura Simpson, whom he had met in a bar that evening.

Simpson later disclosed that they shared a "kiss and cuddle" and suggested more could have happened, which once again left Coleen "heartbroken" and resulted in her moving out for a period. While in the jungle, Coleen opened up to campmate Oti Mabuse about the challenges in her marriage, saying: "Since the first mistake he's made, that's been in the public, people have not forgiven."

She added that despite public pressure to split, love remained: "When things have happened, the public have wanted it to just go oh, split, you know, that's it, split them up. But the fact is, there's always been love still there. It has been difficult, but we're happy now, after all those years... we're a team."

These sentiments reflect her previous statements on Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast, where she discussed her reasons for repeatedly forgiving Wayne.

Speaking on the podcast, she said: "You could draw a line under it but, with me and Wayne, I've always said, there was always love still there. "So why throw it away when you can work at it?

"If you work at it, and it doesn't work, then forget about it and go your own separate ways. But, there's always been love... we never wanted to part. There's no point on keeping it in.

"That's when you get yourself all worked up. I've seen that happen to so many people. Even with the kids, I say 'get it out, deal with it, get your punishment done and move on.'".
