Wayne Rooneys tearjerking first words to Coleen after she leaves I
Coleen Rooney was the runner-up on the 2022 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and was greeted with a sweet message from her husband Wayne Rooney

I'm A Celebrity wrapped up its latest series last night, and although she didn't clinch the title of Queen of the Jungle, Coleen Rooney walked away with something arguably more precious. The 38-year-old WAG finished as runner-up to McFly's Danny Jones at the finale of the popular ITV programme.

Despite not taking home the crown, it wasn't all disappointment for Coleen, who was greeted with a heartwarming message from her other half, Wayne Rooney. In one of her initial chats post-jungle, Coleen shared that after a four-week hiatus from communication, she finally spoke to Wayne, aged 39, and his touching remarks nearly moved her to tears.

"He just said how much he missed me, how proud he was, and he said the support back home has been unbelievable," she beamed. She also sweetly admitted on Good Morning Britain: "He just can't wait to see me, and I can't wait to see him as well."

Coleen and Wayne have been an item since their teens, first crossing paths in 1998 and becoming part of the same circle of friends.

Fast forward a decade, and they sealed their love with a lavish ceremony in Portofino, Italy, rumoured to have cost over £5 million, complete with performances from legendary groups Westlife and Stereophonics, reports the Mirror.

After her stint in the jungle, Coleen opened up to a news outlet about her family dynamics and how her four sons, Kai, 15; Klay, 11; Kit, eight, and Cass, six, shared their support. The two youngest boys made the journey to Australia to greet their mum upon her exit from the show.

Explaining the absence of her oldest children, Coleen said: "My two older boys have stayed at home because school is important at this age, and the two younger ones brought work away with them. I can't wait to get home to the two older ones and Wayne, of course," She also revealed her unexpected trepidation for the jungle, stating it wasn't the great outdoors or bugs that worried her but "It was karaoke and cooking. I don't do karaoke, so why would I go on a show and think that I had to do it? I just enjoyed everyone else doing it," Coleen chuckled. Last night's finale was a showdown between Coleen, Reverend Richard, and Danny, with more than 10 million votes cast, making it an immensely popular climax.

Despite Danny winning and Coleen being the runner-up, Coleen expressed her contentment, noting she was "gutted" not to win yet optimistic about the pride her family would feel: "My boys have been proud of their dad for so long, it's my turn now," she remarked.

Ellie Leach expressed her heartfelt thanks to fans on the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show Unpacked, saying: "I think that people's vote meant a lot. I have celebrated a lot of people in my life, so for people to celebrate me felt special."

She also addressed speculation about her future during an interview with GMB, dismissing the rumours of a "£1m telly deal" as news to her and stating, "I'm looking forward to Christmas, and then in January, I will sit down with my team and see what I am going to do going forward."
