U18s preview: West Ham United v Arsenal Pre-Match Report News
Our young Gunners will aim for back-to-back away victories as they head to east London to take on West Ham United on Saturday, April 13, with kick-off set for 11am.
Currently occupying third place in the standings, we are eight points behind second-placed West Ham, although we hold a game in hand.
In our recent fixture, we staged a remarkable comeback from two goals down in the opening seven minutes to secure an impressive 5-3 victory away to Brighton & Hove Albion. Goals from Louie Copley, Michal Rosiak, Andre Annous, and a brace from Chido Martin Obi propelled us to our third win in four games.
A look at West Ham
West Ham currently holds the second spot in the league table, having amassed 43 points from 20 games so far this season. Despite suffering a narrow 4-3 defeat to league leaders Chelsea last week, the Hammers were on an impressive four-game winning streak, securing victories over Brighton, Aston Villa, Norwich, and Southampton.
The Hammers boast a formidable attacking duo, with striker Joshua Ajala tallying an impressive 13 goals in 19 appearances, while attacking midfielder Daniel Rigge has contributed 11 goals and six assists in 17 games, making them a potent threat in front of goal.
Our encounters with the east London side this season have been competitive. In our first league fixture, we emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, courtesy of goals from Louie Copley and Daniel Oyetunde. Additionally, our meeting in the Premier League Cup ended in a 1-1 draw.
