Clinton Morrison has predicted there to be a lot of goals when West Ham visit Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on 5 May.
The Blues are on the back of an impressive win against Tottenham in midweek and like the Hammers, will be aiming to qualify for Europe.
Currently, Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit in eight place – one ahead of David Moyes’ Irons.
Speaking on Premier League’s preview show on 3 May at 23:27, Morrison said: “I’m going 3-2 for Chelsea. I like the way Chelsea are playing. I want goals. I see them picking up the three points and challenging for Europa League.”
West Ham can make things difficult for Chelsea
Despite starting as underdogs against Chelsea, West Ham can make things difficult for their opponents by employing a strategic game plan.
This approach involves sitting deep and then hitting Chelsea on the counter-attack.
Sitting deep refers to a defensive strategy where the team maintains a compact and organised defensive structure, typically with a low block, close to their own penalty area.
The trio of Mohammed Kudus, Michail Antonio, and Jarrod Bowen excel in counter-attacking play for the Hammers due to their individual attributes and the team’s strategy.
Kudus is a versatile attacker with a knack for dribbling past defenders and creating scoring opportunities, as seen in his impressive performances in the Europa League.
Antonio’s physicality and pace make him a potent threat on the break, while Bowen’s goalscoring ability and tactical awareness allow him to exploit spaces left by opposing defences so the visitors have a chance of getting something out of this one.
In other West Ham news, a £10m release clause claim has emerged as the Hammers have been given a chance to hire an ‘Elite’ manager.
