WWE 2K24 Standard, Deluxe, & Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition ...

The differences between editions of WWE 2K24 have been announced ahead of its upcoming release date. This is the latest installment in the wrestling franchise's video game series, which has operated on an annual release schedule since 2000. As always, 2K24 includes updates to reflect the current state of the WWE roster, incremental graphical improvements, and, sometime after release, a series of DLC packs including new and historic WWE wrestlers from across WWE's decades of history. WWE 2K24 also celebrates the fortieth anniversary of WrestleMania, WWE's biggest and most consequential yearly pay-per-view event.

Revealed at the 2024 Royal Rumble, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed WWE 2K23 is available in four editions: Standard, Deluxe, Forty Years of WrestleMania, and Cross-Gen. As is par for the course with WWE games and most major releases in general, each edition differs in what it includes, with more complete (and often more expensive) editions being bundled in with various in-game bonuses. These editions also differ slightly in which platforms they're available for, which formats they come in, and when they come out. Here are all the editions of WWE 2K24, and what's inside each.

WWE 2K24 Release And Pre-Order Dates

WWE 2K24 will be released on March 8, 2024, for multiple platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. However, depending on the edition purchased, some content may only become available at a post-release date to be determined. Pre-orders are already available for all editions, and can be made either through a platform-specific digital store, the official 2K online store, or the game retailer of the player's choice.

WWE 2K24: What's In The Standard Edition

The Standard Edition of WWE 2K24 features cover star Cody Rhodes, who had his WWE debut in 2006, and recently returned to the promotion after a stint as executive vice president of All Elite Wrestling. It's available in physical and digital editions for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, but is exclusive to digital via Steam on PC. Retailing for $59.99 USD on PS4 and Xbox One, and $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the Standard Edition contains only the game itself if purchased on or after its release date, with no special edition bonuses.

However, like most editions of WWE 2K24, the Standard Edition includes a redeemable code for one free month of Peacock, the home of WWE video streaming, if purchased by April 14, 2024. If pre-ordered, the Standard Edition comes with the Nightmare Family Pack of DLC bonuses. That includes a few unique wrestlers from the 1970s era: "Superstar" Billy Graham, and Dusty Rhodes as he appeared in 1976. It also includes three versions of Cody Rhodes: the earlier gimmicks Stardust and Undashing Cody Rhodes, along with the toyetic Mattel Cody Rhodes.

Finally, the pre-order contains three MyFACTION cards: Dusty Rhodes ('76), Mattel Cody Rhodes, and Cody Rhodes' dog Pharaoh as a manager. These MyFACTION cards are playable in the game mode of the same name, a card-collecting, faction-building feature.

WWE 2K24: What's In The Cross-Gen Digital Edition

The Cross-Gen Digital Edition is a unique version of WWE 2K24. It includes a copy of the game for a previous generation console - the PS4 or Xbox One - along with the option to upgrade to a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S version later. It's only available for digital purchase on consoles, as there's no need for generational upgrades on PC. It costs $69.99, but is otherwise identical to the Standard Edition, including the Nightmare Family Pack when pre-ordered.

WWE 2K24: What's In The Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition is WWE 2K24's middle-of-the-road option. It comes with everything in the Standard Edition, including the Nightmare Family Pack and free demo of Peacock, with a few extra additions. First, it includes a Mega-Boost and a Supercharger, in-game bonuses for different modes. The Mega-Boost gives create-a-wrestlers special boosts in the MyRISE career mode, granting them 200 attribute points to distribute as they wish. The Supercharger immediately unlocks all wrestlers available on the WWE 2K24 roster at launch. The Deluxe Edition also includes MyFACTION Evo cards and alternate attires for its two cover stars, Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley.

The Deluxe Edition of WWE 2K24 also comes with a Season Pass for all the game's DLC. Five DLC packs are expected to be released on a rough monthly schedule, likely following the similar strategy employed by WWE 2K23. Each pack adds a handful of new wrestlers to the roster. Finally, those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition can access WWE 2K24 three days early, on March 5, 2024. It retails for $99.99, and is available in both physical and digital editions.

WWE 2K24: What's In The 40 Years Of WrestleMania Edition

The 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition of WWE 2K24 is the biggest of the bunch, and has the price tag to match. Weighing in at $119.99 USD, it's the most complete release, and bundles up everything in the Standard, Cross-Gen, and Deluxe Editions, including the Nightmare Family Pack and three days of early access if pre-ordered. The 40 Years of WrestleMania edition also comes with all the Deluxe Edition bonuses, a free generational upgrade, and a one-month trial of streaming on Peacock. It boasts a unique cover design: a collage of iconic wrestlers from all eras of the WWE.

Uniquely, the 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition immediately unlocks all superstars in Showcase mode, a way for players to relive iconic feuds and matches from throughout the years. It also includes an in-game recreation of the unique arena for WrestleMania 40.

The 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition of WWE 2K24 comes with five unique attires for playable wrestlers as they've appeared in some of their greatest WrestleMania matches: "Macho King" Randy Savage from WrestleMania 6, Rey Mysterio from WrestleMania 22, Triple H from WrestleMania 30, Charlotte Flair from WrestleMania 33, and Rhea Ripley from WrestleMania 36. For each of these, buyers will also receive a gold MyFACTION card.

Those are all the editions available for WWE 2K24 at launch. There'll certainly be more surprises as the game progresses through its DLC season, with semi-monthly releases of new wrestlers and other content over the first few months after release. For now, interested players will have to wait until WWE 2K24's release date on March 8, 2024 - not to mention WrestleMania XL on April 6 and 7.
