CM Punk hints he could have a special role on Saturday Night’s Main Event

When he’s not on WWE Raw driving Drew McIntyre or Seth Rollins insane, CM Punk calls fights for mixes martial arts promotion CFFC.

It’s a gig that Punk clearly enjoys. He’s got great rapport with play-by-play partner John Morgan and their occasional partner (and CFFC owner/promoter) Rob Haydak. Punk’s also said some things about his pro wrestling career while doing MMA color commentary that turned out to be pretty prophetic... and we’re thinking he did it again at CFFC 138 in Atlantic City last night (Dec. 13).

The clip making the rounds cuts off whatever presumably not-PG banter led to this moment, where Punk says, “it’s Friday the 13th, ladies and gentlemen, anything goes here on the boardwalk”. Morgan jokes that he’s heard WWE stars will be able to “drop some f-bombs on Netflix”, which is when Punk drops a hint about doing something on NBC tonight...

“I gotta get this out of my system. I might be doing commentary with Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura tomorrow night on Saturday Night’s Main Event. I gotta relax — get us thrown off Peacock, brother.”

From the outside, Punk & Ventura would seem to be kindred spirits. They already shared a moment when the 38th Governor of Minnesota visited Raw earlier this year. And with WWE essentially treating SNME as their December PLE, it would make sense for them to involve a marquee name like Punk however they can.
