I've generally been rather down on Wear OS smartwatches - the software is fine but few manufacturers build on it, and they generally have terrible battery lives too.

One of the biggest Wear OS watchmakers is Fossil, and they're a fairly popular and reliable smartwatch brand - well, they're really a fashion company, but this isn't our 'fashion live blog' is it.

Target has discounted loads of Fossil smartwatches so if you've been meaning to pick one up, you've got an opportunity now.

Depending on where you live, you're either nearing the end of Cyber Monday... or are still only half way through it.

The Garmin Forerunner 935 is over half price, down from $500 to $230 - we gave this 2019 running watch four-and-a-half stars out of five thanks to its long-lasting battery and plentiful sports tracking modes.

If you're looking for a feature-packed running watch it's a good option, especially with this discount bringing it to a new low price.

Stuck for Christmas gift ideas for the kids? A Fitbit Ace 3 will encourage them to get up and moving rather than vegging out in front of the TV, and it's super cheap for Cyber Monday – just $49.95 at both Amazon and Dell. That's $30 off the regular price, which isn't too shabby at all for a watch that only launched a few months ago.

It's not covered in cartoon characters either, so they won't be embarrassed to wear it at school if they're a little older.

Need something more powerful than a typical Fitbit, but don't want a fully-fledged GPS running watch? The Garmin Venu Sq could be the one for you – and it's never been cheaper than it is now for Cyber Monday.

Right now, you can grab the Venu Sq at Amazon for its lowest ever price of $129.99, in white, slate, or orchid purple. If that's still a bit too pricey, and you don't mind sticking with the dark gray version, you can grab a refurbished Venu Sq for $112.10 at Walmart.

In the UK the Venu Sq is down from £179.99 to £125.75, though if you want the gray version you might have to wait until after Christmas for it to arrive. Need it straight away? You can grab it for £129 from John Lewis. It's hip to be square.

My personal favorite sports watch is the Garmin Instinct Solar. It's not the most stylish Garmin around, but it's tough as old boots and it can go weeks between charges with just a little bit of sunlight on its face.

It's super practical, and it's down to its lowest ever price at Amazon for Cyber Monday at just $254 in the US, or £189 in the UK. Interestingly, not all colors are the same price; the purple version is cheapest in the US, while the black option is cheaper in the UK.

The other hues are on sale too, but those are the options if you want to get the biggest possible saving.
