Marcus Rashford issues defiant message to Manchester United
Marcus Rashford has spoken out after Saturday's FA Cup final win over Manchester City

Marcus Rashford doubled down on his commitment to Manchester United after helping inspire an FA Cup final win over Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The United winger played 74 minutes of action at Wembley as Erik ten Hag's side secured a memorable victory, marking his final appearance for the club during what has been a disappointing campaign both from a personal and collective standpoint.

Rashford has received plenty of criticism for his performances this term after experiencing a major drop-off in output from the previous year, during which he scored 30 goals in all competitions. He has managed just eight this time around.

Fed up of the comments that have come his way in recent months, the 26-year-old hit back at his doubters during a wide-ranging interview with The Players' Tribune in February, insisting people questioning his commitment to the club left him needing to "speak up".

Rashford was seen in tears following the full-time whistle of Saturday's Manchester derby and took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a reminder of his love for the club, writing: "People want to know what Man Utd means to me!"

Ten Hag backed United's No.10 last month when asked what he put the player's poor form down to, responding: "That is an interesting question. He knows, I know. It has to do with himself but also to do of course with the team. I already said our attacking game has improved a lot after the winter.

"But before winter our attacking game was not good enough. I think it's always the two factors I mentioned; it's the team and it's himself. They are of course related to each other."
