Busy Asda store evacuated after concerns for safety of a man - Liverpool Echo

A busy Merseyside Asda superstore was evacuated today after a concern for safety of a man.

The Breck Road store in Everton was full of Christmas shoppers when it was reported someone shouted "quick get out before it’s too late."

Staff evacuated the store and police were called to the scene shortly before 1pm.

One person reported: "My friend phoned me and told me…apparently it was someone inside the shop shouting quick get out before it's too late."

Another said: "Something has happened at Breck Road Asda, all customers and staff evacuated and police on scene, there's been an incident inside but unsure what's happened."

Merseyside Police confirmed they were called out to a "concern for safety of a male."

A spokesperson added the man had been safeguarded and was now in the care of his family, and no further action would be taken.
