Audi RS Q6 Sportback E-Tron Spied, Could Pack A 600+ HP Punch
  • Audi appears to be working on a high-performance version of the Q6 e-tron.
  • The model would slot above the SQ6 e-tron and have more than 600 hp.
  • The crossover will likely be heavily influenced by the upcoming RS6 e-tron.

When Audi introduced the Q6 and SQ6 e-tron last month, they promised more variants were on the horizon. Spy photographers have apparently caught one of them as this prototype is believed to be the RS Q6 Sportback e-tron.

While that’s just a guess, there are a few clues this isn’t your run-of-the-mill electric crossover. The biggest resides up front as the model has an aggressive fascia with a large intake and vertical air curtains.

Further back, we can see a beefy braking system with red calipers. While the prototype eschews drilled discs, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them on the production model.

While the body doesn’t look too remarkable at first glance, the prototype has vertical front fender vents. They blend in with the camouflage, but are notable as they’re not found on the SQ6 e-tron.

The rest of the design appears to largely carryover, but there could be a few surprises hiding beneath the disguise. That being said, the cabin should be familiar and include an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch front passenger display. Besides the usual tech features, we can expect sport seats, carbon fiber trim, and plenty of RS badging.

Little is known about the model at this point, but the SQ6 e-tron has a 100 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. The latter produces 483 hp (360 kW / 489 PS), although that figure jumps to 510 hp (380 kW / 517 PS) with launch control.

This setup enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in around 4.2 seconds. The SQ6 e-tron also has a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h) as well as a WLTP range of up to 372 miles (598 km).

The RS Q6 Sportback e-tron would obviously build on those numbers and likely echo the Porsche Macan Turbo Electric. That particular model has 630 hp (470 kW / 639 PS) and can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.1 seconds.
