As to whether she will be parading the iconic statuette around the country and back to her home town of Bewdley, where she went to St Anne's C of E Primary School and The Bewdley School, Hill said: "Knowing me, I I take it out my house, I would probably break it.

"I have always been very clumsy but I will definitely show it to my family and friends."

That will include Hill's parents Sue and Stephen Hill from Bewdley and her older brother Adam Hughes, who she acknowledges introduced her to a lifelong love of dance music.

During her emotional acceptance speech at The Brit Awards, Hill thanked her parents along with her her loyal fans - who voted for the winner of the Best Dance Act award.

Hill had been one of the underdogs to be named winner, up against huge dance music artists including RAYE and Joel Corry.

Hill had said before the awards that this was the prize she most wanted to win, after being nominated for two gongs including Best Song of the Year.

It was 10 years ago when a 17-year-old Hill took a chance on entering the-then new TV talent competition The Voice on BBC1.

Picked by mentor Jessie J, Hill didn't win the competition but it changed her life forever.

After leaving at the semi-final stage, Hill was introduced to important dance music contacts in London and she never looked back, moving on from her life as a Bewdley barmaid.

That sent her along a path where she would end up working with her heroes from David Guetta on Remember to Sigala on track Wish You Well.
