Martin Lewis' MoneySavingExpert reveals the UK's best chocolate bunny for Easter

Just as Easter comes knocking, Martin Lewis's team at MoneySavingExpert has revealed the best chocolate bunny on the market in a rigorous taste test.
So if you're still um-ing and ah-ing about which chocolate is the best one to indulge in, MSE has given some specialist insight to help you make your decision.
Putting up Lindt’s iconic Easter Gold Bunny against a number of supermarket own-brand versions, the MSE team looked at which chocolate bunny was their favourite, and whether they could identify which one was Lindt’s.

In the test, seven bunnies went up against one another, ranging from £1 (Tesco) to £3 and £3.75 for Lindt, depending on where you buy it. The test included;
Prices were correct as of Monday, March 18.
MSE got 23 taste-testers to try out all seven. To ensure anonymity, the bunnies were broken up and placed in separate numbered bowls.
The top three favourite bunnies were: Lindt Gold Bunny Milk Chocolate 100g with 13 votes, Tesco Easter Milk Chocolate Bunny 100g (second, with nine votes), and M&S Swiss Milk Chocolate Baby Bunny 100g (third, with one vote). 14 of the taste-testers correctly identified the Lindt Easter Gold Bunny as being Lindt, with six believing Tesco’s version was the iconic chocolate bunny, and two said M&S.
The testers described Lindt as having a “great depth of flavour” and “melt in your mouth nice”. Tesco’s version was described as “really gorgeous”, while the testers said they would buy M&S’s as a gift.
MSE wrote of the winner: “Lindt! Turns out it's the gold standard after all, however Tesco's milk chocolate bunny came within a hare of it, with 39 per cent of our taste testers choosing the cheapest £1 bunny as the tastiest.
“Lindt was clearly recognisable to our testers, even without seeing the gold wrapping and sparkly bell. Though while Tesco's wrapping doesn't look as premium, based purely on taste, over a quarter of our testers were convinced Tesco’s cheap bunny was actually the pricier Lindt version – so if premium looks isn't a priority, it could be worth giving Tesco's a try to see if you can downshift and save at least 66 per cent.
“It's also worth bearing in mind that you're often paying extra for the novelty shape, so if you love the Lindt taste, but aren't fussed about it being a bunny, Lindt's Classic Recipe Milk bar was about £1.60 per 100g when we checked, compared to its bunny costing from £3 per 100g. It's the same ingredients, but about 50 per cent cheaper.”
