Epic Games Store Free Game for March 28 Revealed

Epic Games Store Free Game for March 28 Revealed
The Epic Games Store makes two more games free for users to claim for their digital libraries while confirming the March 28 freebie.

Highlights

  • Epic Games Store users can claim two free games, Call of the Wild: The Angler and Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, until March 28.
  • Islets, a Metroidvania game with positive reviews, will be the next free game on the Epic Games Store lineup starting March 28.
  • The upcoming free game lineup on the Epic Games Store will include classic Fallout games at some point, but their dates have yet to be revealed.

The Epic Games Store free game for March 28 is Islets. While fans can always count on the Epic Games Store to give away free games every Thursday at 10am CT, the giveaways are otherwise fairly inconsistent. There are times when the Epic Games Store gives away one free game, but there are also times when EGS users have two free games to claim.

Currently, Epic Games Store users have two free games that they are free to claim now for their digital libraries. From now until Thursday, March 28 at 10am CT, Epic Games Store users can snag Call of the Wild: The Angler and Invincible Presents: Atom Eve. The addition of Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is rather fitting as the Invincible TV series has just made its big comeback on Amazon Prime for the second half of Season 2. Invincible Presents: Atom Eve reviews were mostly positive at the time of its release, while Call of the Wild: The Angler earned a decidedly more mixed reception.

Epic Games Store Is Coming to Two More Platforms
At Epic's State of Unreal presentation, the Fortnite creator announces that the Epic Games Store is coming to two major platforms later this year.

Any Epic Games Store users that claim Call of the Wild: The Angler and Invincible Presents: Atom Eve for their collections by March 28 will have access to them forever. Once March 28 rolls around, Call of the Wild: The Angler and Invincible Presents: Atom Eve will be cycled out of the Epic Games Store free games lineup and replaced by Islets, a "wholesome" Metroidvania game that earned mostly positive reviews when it first launched in 2022.

Epic Games Store Free Games Right Now

  • Call of the Wild: The Angler (March 21 - March 28)
  • Invincible Presents: Atom Eve (March 21 - March 28)
  • Islets (March 28 - April 4)

Islets reviews have complimented the game's hand-drawn graphics, adorable characters, and engaging story. According to playtime aggregate How Long to Beat, it takes the average player about 7.5 hours to finish a playthrough of Islets, so it seems like a short and sweet adventure. Fans of Metroidvania games should definitely be sure to claim Islets once it joins the Epic Games Store free games lineup on March 28.

When Islets is made free on March 28, Epic Games Store users will be clued in on its replacement game, dropping April 4. It's anyone's guess as to what that game may be, but there are a trio of games that EGS users know are coming eventually. It's been confirmed that the classic Fallout games, Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel will be free on the Epic Games Store at some point later this year. Perhaps they will be the free games from April 4 through April 11 to coincide with the premiere of the Fallout TV series on Amazon, but that's just speculation at this time. Fans will find out for sure next week.
