The Great Celebrity Bake Offs Greg James jealous as Dermot O
It was the first time Paul Hollywood did this all series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off which raises funds for Stand Up to Cancer

Viewers have been teasing radio presenter Greg James after he failed to hide his shock at Dermot O'Leary getting the ultimate Bake Off accolade. The two BBC Radio presenters were both contestants on Channel 4's Great British Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer.

Their first challenge, the signature bake, was making eight iced buns. Greg James made iced buns filled with custard while Radio 2 presenter Dermot O'Leary made fruits of the forest iced buns. He said he chose that flavour because he "loves iced buns" and "I'm a child of the 80s and forest fruit was everywhere in the 1980s".

He made an enriched dough packed with cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, chantilly cream and a mixed berry puree. Speaking before Dermot made them, Paul said the flavours "ticked all his boxes".

Dermot then added gold leaf to his blackberries before serving his creation to the judges. In the interview VT the This Morning host, who is reunited with regular co-presenter Alison Hammond on Bake Off, said "I don't think I'll get a handshake, but he might get an O'Leary hug".

During the judging, despite telling him they were "messy", Paul Hollywood gave Dermot one of his renowned hand shakes. It is the first he has given this series, the Stand Up to Cancer UK official X feed confirmed.

Dermot, who was visibly shocked, said: "You're joking". Paul explained his decision, saying: "The reason why I'm giving you a handshake is that I loved that flavour when I was a kid and you've managed to get the same flavour and texture in an iced bun that I remember as a child". Dermot described "getting a bit emotional", while his gobsmacked fellow contestant Greg James looked on.

People on social media picked up Greg's reaction to the handshake, as well as the odd appearance of Dermot's iced fingers.

One, @MattZeeMiller wrote: "Jealous of Dermot getting a handshake... Maybe just a little lol #GBBO"

Another, @hometownoftears, said "does this look like a display of ham sandwiches at a continental breakfast to anyone else or are my eyes That bad? #GBBO". While @TonyFlavin0 asked: "Did Dermot have ham on top of his iced buns? #GBBO".

Other contestants in the fourth episode of the latest series were Spice Girl Mel B and podcaster Fern Brady.
