Honor Magic 6 Pro Finally Makes Its Global Debut With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3,180-Megapixel Periscope Camera, And 5,600 mAh Silicon Carbon Battery
The Honor Magic 6 Pro is finally here for global markets thanks to the company's announcement at the MWC 2024 today, and it is looking like one of the most impressive devices available in the market. The company has even hinted at a Porsche Design variant that will be launching next month.
The Honor Magic 6 Pro is going to cost you a pretty penny, but you do get a very compelling smartphone out of this
Now, this is not the first rodeo for the Honor Magic 6 Pro as the device made its domestic debut last month, but considering how it is now available to a much larger audience, we finally get to see the phone in all its glory.
The Honor Magic 6 Pro runs on the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with up to 12 gigs of RAM. The phone also has 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. Powering up the device is a 5,600 mAh battery. It's a second-generation silicon carbon battery with a higher density than your usual lithium batteries, and it can even work under extreme temperatures. You can charge your phone with 80W fast wired charging and 66W wireless charging. Reverse wireless and reveres wired charging are also supported, but you will have to arrange your own charger as it is not included.
Coming to the software, the Honor Magic 6 Pro rung MagicOS 8.0, which is based on Android 14. Honor is obviously adding AI to the mix, and there is Magic Capsule and Magic Portal, too. The Magic Capsule is more or less what Dynamic Island would be on Android, and Magic Portal actually supports over 100 most frequently used applications globally. It can even recognize addresses in a text message and direct users to those addresses in Google Maps.
The Honor Magic 6 Pro will also have support for on-device AI with Llama 2. Thanks to this AI implementation, the phone will be able to complete functions such as Q&A, text creation, reading comprehension, and more in an offline environment.
Coming to the optics, the Honor Magic 6 Pro has a powerful triple-camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel main camera with variable aperture that goes as low as f/1.4 and as high as f/2.0. It's not a drastic jump, but we'll take it. There is also a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a massive 180-megapixel periscope camera that is capable of 2.5x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 50-megapixel selfie camera and a ToF sensor, as well.
Speaking of the front, the Honor Magic 6 Pro sports a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 2800x1280 resolution. It can go from as low as 1Hz to all the way to 120Hz, and it has an insane peak brightness of 5,000 nits and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
Honor is not coming slow with the price either, as the Honor Magic 6 Pro costs you €1,299 in Europe, and pre-orders are starting today with a sale starting on March 1st. Needless to say, if you have been looking for a stellar flagship phone that is different from what Samsung and Apple are doing, this definitely is something that you should look into.
