Halifax and Lloyds down: Hundreds of users report issues with banking apps - Mirror Online
Lloyds and Halifax’s online banking services appear to be experiencing issues, with users complaining that they are unable to get online.
While outage monitor Down Detector is also indicating the services are down, a Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said the company's online banking is working normally again.
"We're sorry some of our customers had issues for a short time this evening.”
But dozens of frustrated users had already taken to Twitter to air their grievances, with one Lloyds Bank customer left embarrassed when he went to pay for his shopping, only to find the app was down.
"1 hour wait so far on the phone, damn disgrace!" he tweeted.
"Never felt so embarrassed in my life!"

And a Halifax banker tweeted: "@HalifaxBank Your mobile app is coming up with a logon error 503 and I can’t get through on phones to speak with anyone to report it . I can’t access my money and I’m desperate!!!"
"What a shocker, not," she wrote. "No updates on your website, social media nor phone lines either. I WANT ACCESS TO MY MONEY. IT'S XMAS! @HalifaxBank@BankofScotland"
Another woman who was unable to access her accounts claimed she had been given an approximate wait time of one hour, to speak to an advisor upon calling Halifax Bank's customer service.
Customers of both banks were complaining online of a lack of information online about when the app and online banking were expected to be back up and running.
There were also a handful of complaints about long wait times to speak to customer service representatives.
