M25 reopens after lorry fire leaves motorway closed all day

Traffic officers are now recovering the lorry from the scene, while fire crews dampen down hotspots on the road surface.

The fire broke out at 10pm on Sunday, October 20. We do not yet know the cause of the fire, or if there were any people involved.

This major event led to closures on the M25, with miles of traffic building. It is believed the closure will be ongoing, as lanes heading anticlockwise reopen.
