Marcus Rashford could match a record against Brazil and Belgium

Marcus Rashford could match a strange record if comes off the bench in England's upcoming friendlies. 

Gareth Southgate's side will continue their preparations for this summer's Euros when Brazil visit Wembley on Friday night. 

The Three Lions will then face Belgium in an all European clash at home to Belgium on Tuesday. 

Rashford will match a record currently held by former striker Jermain Defoe if he comes off the bench in both matches. 

The Manchester United forward will join Defoe in making the most substitute appearances for England.

35 of Jermain Defoe's 57 caps for England were off the bench compared to Rashford's 33

He has come of the bench 33 times for his country in comparison to Defoe's 35 substitute appearances in 57 caps. 

Current England midfielder Jordan Henderson makes the top 10 with 26 appearances off the bench in 81 games. 

Emile Heskey, Phil Neville, Kieron Dyer, Owen Hargreaves, Joe Cole, James Milner and Peter Crouch make the rest of the list.  

Rashford has become an important player in the England setup since making his debut as a teenager in 2016. 

The 26-year-old has scored 17 times in that period, including two in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
