Live London Underground updates as Balham station closed after fire on tracks causes chaos on Northern Line

A London Underground station in South London has been closed due to a fire alert this morning, Wednesday April 10. Balham Underground Station has been closed by Transport for London (TfL) following a fire alert.

This is causing severe delays on the Northern Line, with no service between Kennington and Morden at present. It's also having a knock-on effect on the trains from Balham Railway Station into Central London, as the trains are much busier than normal.

London Buses, London Trams, Southern and South Western Railway are accepting tickets, TfL has said. The British Transport Police has been contacted for further information about this incident.
