Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition: What’s to know

The Trident Triple Tribute gets a distinctive white and metallic blue paint scheme accented with streaks of red. Notably, it sports the number 67 graphic on the sides and on the top of the tank as well. This colour scheme is further complemented by a colour-matched flyscreen and bellypan, distinguishing it from the standard model.

Mechanically, the special edition Triumph Trident 660 stands unchanged, powered by the same liquid-cooled, 660cc, inline three-cylinder engine producing 81hp and 64Nm of torque. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, it now features a bidirectional quickshifter, which is an optional extra in the standard version. The motorcycle’s tubular frame is suspended with Showa USD fork and a preload adjustable monoshock, while the braking is handled by twin 310mm discs at the front and a 255mm disc at the back.

The Trident gets a few riding aids, including two riding modes (Road and Rain) and adjustable traction control, accessible via the colour TFT- dash. Other features include turn-by-turn navigation, all-LED lighting and auto-cancelling indicators as well.

Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition: Pricing, India launch

Triumph India has consistently updated its portfolio and the most recent new models in the British Marque’s lineup are its most powerful ever – the Rocket 3 Storm R, GT. Priced at Rs 8.12 lakh, ex-showroom, India, the standard Trident 660 is the most accessible motorcycle in Triumph’s large-capacity portfolio. In the UK, the Tribute edition is priced on par with the standard Trident but it remains to be seen if that trend continues in India.
