Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is back on our screens with Jeremy Clarkson giving a host of new members of the public the chance to win £1m - but could you take home the top prize? The ITV quiz show has only had six winners of the top prize in all its time on air.

The show first started on ITV in 1998, with a different host, Chris Tarrant. The series sees contestants climbing a money ladder all the way up to £1m, with three lifelines to help them along the way. But they often risk losing big money if they get an answer wrong.

Judith Keppel was the trailblazer as the first £1m winner in 2000, followed soon after by David Edwards in the next year. The final question David faced was no easy task. Fancy giving it a go?

David raked in his million quid off this question: "If you planted the seeds of Quercus Robur, what would grow?" You had four options to choose from:

• A. Trees
• B. Flowers
• C. Vegetables
• D. Grain

Retired doctor Andrew Townsley had the chance to become the sixth person to win the jackpot when he reached the final question - but he decided to keep his £500,000 rather than risk it. After choosing not to answer, host Jeremy Clarkson asked what he would have said if he had to guess.

Shockingly, Andrew revealed he would've chosen the correct answer, which would have won him £1 million - and it would have paid off to gamble.
